Hello and welcome to my blog!

My name is Rebecca Malcolm and I'm a married mother of two incredible kids.

Two years ago I chose to start a home business to begin creating a solid income source to help secure my family's financial future all while continuing to be home for my children.

I strive everyday to be a positive influence to those I come in contact with. Some days this comes so easily while others it may take a conscious effort.

Part of staying positive is surrounding yourself with other positive people. I've been so blessed with being surrounded everyday with the most positive, inspiring women and I hope that with this blog I can be a positive, inspiration and bring some value to you!

My Home Business Choice

With my husband being the sole financial provider for our family and things slowly getting tight, something had to give. We were tired of "getting by", we wanted to get ahead. We wanted to know that when my husband was ready to retire from the police department that we would be debt free, with the exception of maybe our mortgage. We wanted to have a college savings plan for the kids. My husband and I were both tired of always being anxious about our finances. My husband did all he could, working all the over time he could but that meant we saw him less and less and that created a whole new set of problems. What choices did we have......my husband couldn't work anymore than he already was so it was up to me.....I needed to find something to generate an income and be able to do it right from home.

Prior to my daughter being born I worked from home for a bank as a mortgage consultant. But when the market collapsed so did my gig from home. That job, even though it did bring in a really decent income at times was absolutely not ideal for a mom with small children at home.

I needed to find something to generate some income. I kept my eyes open for anything that was flexible that I could do from home. I tried the survey thing and quickly realized I would be able to generate more money digging in the couch cushions. I did a lot of searching on the internet, but there was really nothing out there except a whole lot of garbage. Most everything I found online was some sort of scam.

I did have a few friends that had legitimate home businesses that suggested I come on board with them. They loved what they were doing and at least one of my friends seemed to actually be doing really well with her home business. But after seeing what she had to deal with to make her money, I knew it was not for me, for several reasons.

I was not interested in leaving my home to earn money. I didn't want to pay a sitter for the kids, it seemed counter productive. The little time my husband was home I would want to be home with him and the kids, I was wanting more family time, not less. I wasn't interested in keeping inventory, selling "stuff", collecting money or anything that required me and others to spend money that we didn't really have on things that we really didn't need! I wanted something I could do right from home. So needless to say, having a home businesses was not an option for me.

In June of 2008, I started my home business!! I don't do parties, stock inventory, take orders, collect money or run all over creation delivering products! I truly work right from home with my kids by my side. I am so blessed that the business I found and the truly incredible team of women I work with found it's way into my life.

To the contrary of everything that I come to believe, having a home business really is the best way to get ahead. My husband has now termed me his retirement plan! My family's financial future is optimistic and we are excited about where we are heading! I can't imagine what my life would look like if I had not had a mind open enough to learn about this business and made the choice I did!
