Hello and welcome to my blog!

My name is Rebecca Malcolm and I'm a married mother of two incredible kids.

Two years ago I chose to start a home business to begin creating a solid income source to help secure my family's financial future all while continuing to be home for my children.

I strive everyday to be a positive influence to those I come in contact with. Some days this comes so easily while others it may take a conscious effort.

Part of staying positive is surrounding yourself with other positive people. I've been so blessed with being surrounded everyday with the most positive, inspiring women and I hope that with this blog I can be a positive, inspiration and bring some value to you!

Are You a Manager or a Leader??

Behind every successful business is a great leader. A successful person leads, they don't manage. What is the difference you ask....

I came across several definitions of manager and leader and these are the definitions I found most useful.

  • A manager is one who handles, controls or directs.

  • A leader is a person who rules, guides or inspires others.

So, are you a manager or a leader??

People don't want to be managed, they want to be lead! Think about it, have you ever heard of a world manager? No one follows a manager because they want to, they follow because they have to. On the other hand, people follow leaders because they want to! If you want to manage someone, manage yourself. Once you can manage yourself well, then you can begin to lead!

A great leader is followed because they have proven to those that are following that they are committed to the organization. They are trusted, and honest. They are passionate about the direction they are going and about the people who are following. People believe in what the leader stands for and believes that the one they are following has their best interest at heart. A strong leader has conviction, confidence and knowledge and inspires others to be leaders themselves!

Look around you, who are you following and why? Strive to obtain the qualities you admire in those you are following and you will find that you too are becoming a leader!

To your success,

Rebecca Malcolm

  2. I would never want someone to follow me or respect me just because of my position. It is much more admirable and full-filling for someone to follow because they want to.
